Rising country star Cole Swindell has officially been certified Gold from the RIAA for his self-titled debut album from Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville. Boasting over 3.5 million tracks sold and more than 159 million streams, the album features his first three consecutive No. 1 singles. His single track “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” has just been certified Platinum by the RIAA, following in the footsteps of previously certified mega-hits “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” and “Chillin’ It.”
In addition to these impressive milestones, Swindell has also notched his fourth consecutive Top 5 single from his self-titled debut album with “Let Me See Ya Girl,” currently No. 4 on the country radio chart. The track is also inside the Top 10 at No. 9 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, making Swindell one of only two debut male artists to claim that accomplishment since 2008.
“All I ever wanted to do was get one of my songs heard on country radio, but to now have my fourth Top 10 single is unbelievable to me,” Swindell explained. “It’s even more unbelievable that my debut album is certified Gold. I’m so thankful for my fans and country radio for helping me achieve all these huge milestones in my career.”
Other achievements in the past year include the 2015 ACM New Artist of the Year Award as well as the CMA Triple Play Award for earning (at least) three No. 1 songs in a 12-month period. Meanwhile, Swindell just wrapped up his run on Jason Aldean’s Burn It Down Tour in West Palm Beach. He will spend the rest of the year headlining his Down Home Tour as part of the inaugural country edition of the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour, beginning at the PlayStation Theater (formerly Best Buy Theatre) in New York on November 11th.
