Warner Bros. recording artist Brandy Clark launches the music video for her hot new single “Girl Next Door” with a storyline that exactly portrays the song’s message. A Stepford wife marionette brings to life the stylized imagery Clark paints with her lyrics. “I loved working with Tracie Goudie and Shane Tarleton on the video for ‘Girl Next Door.’ This song is about someone wanting you for one thing, and then wishing you were completely different. Their vision was exactly what the song needed and I’m really excited to get to share it with everyone,” said Clark. The video is now available on CMT, BrandyClark.CMT.com and all of their digital platforms in an unprecedented amount of support for Clark who is the first artist to be twice honored as a CMT Listen Up Artist.
“Girl Next Door,” written by Clark, Jessie Jo Dillon and Shane McAnally, is the first single from her highly anticipated second album, which will be released later this summer. “I am thrilled to start this year by releasing new music!” said the CMA Award winner. “The response to ‘Girl Next Door’ from both my concert audiences and the country radio stations I have visited has been so positive and strong.” The single has been called “another prime example of Clark’s wicked sense of humor and deft wordplay,” by Rolling Stone and Music Row raves that it showcases “attitude on a platter. Spunk and snark and sass you can dig for days.”
Clark’s critically acclaimed debut, 12 Stories, was named the best album of 2013 by New York Magazine, NPR, The New York Post and The Boston Globe. That same year, The Los Angeles Times called it “the country debut of the year” and placed it on its year-end best-of list, as did Rolling Stone and The New Yorker. She earned GRAMMY nominations in 2014 for both Best Country Album of the Year and the all-genre Best New Artist category.
Currently on the road with Jennifer Nettles on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour, the singer/songwriter has toured with Eric Church and Alan Jackson during the last two years in addition to solo shows. For upcoming tour dates, visit brandyclarkmusic.com.
