For The Country Record was an independently-run country music blog which also featured americana and roots, determined to inject some honesty, wit and authenticity into the world of online music critique and discovery.

For The Country Record was exactly that: for (as in pro) the record that is “country” (whatever that is). It was also a place for straight-up honesty, unadulterated opinion, discussion and argument, country music for the record. It was the place for debate about topics big and small, for reviews of the best and worst music and features on some of the coolest artists around, big and small, major and independent, commercial and non-commercial. This was a place to share, to get angry, to get critical, to fall in love, and most of all to think.

For The Country Record focused on country, Americana, roots, folk, bluegrass, southern rock, alt. country, indie folk… the list went on.
