iTunes UK Country Chart Roundup – Week of 1st April, 2016

s-l225

Unfortunately, this will be my last iTunes UK roundup. It’s been fun taking a look at the UK charts as country has been enjoying a boom here, and I look forward to seeing where it goes next!

Leading the Country Albums chart this week is ‘The Sound of Nashville’, a new compilation featuring various artists. While compilations tend to rule on this chart, the only other entry in that category is actually ‘The Country Album’, which comes in second. Following that, much of the stars of C2C this year continue to sell well a few weeks after the event. Chris Stapleton is at #3 with ‘Traveller’, while Sam Hunt comes in at #6 with ‘Montevallo’, and Miranda Lambert brings up the rear with ‘Platinum’ at #8 (and ‘Revolution’ at #24). Maren Morris’ self-titled EP is next at #9, while Carrie Underwood’s ‘Storyteller’ is at #11 and Kacey Musgraves’ ‘Pageant Material’ picks up #12. Two more C2C artists also come in inside the top 25, and they’re Little Big Town with ‘Pain Killer’ at #22, and Thomas Rhett with ‘Tangled Up’ at #23.
