CMA Announces Recipients of 2016 International Awards

Following the success of CMA’s involvement in the largest Country Music festival in the U.K. – C2C, Country to County – the Country Music Association announced today the 2016 recipients of the organization’s International Awards.

The Bluebird @ The Bluecoat, Liverpool, UK | August 29, 2015 – Review

When I arrived at Liverpool’s Bluecoat arts centre, the venue was clearly prepared for the night of magic and music that was about to commence. Little bluebird footprints stalked the floor in an orderly manner, guiding patrons up to the second floor where, upon stepping out of the lift (or elevator, we might say), I bumped into Jim Lauderdale, who was due to perform that night. Standing on the door checking tickets and the guest list was Erika Wollam, COO of the real Bluebird Café, while Emma Foxall of Monkey Mind Productions, organiser of the event, darted back and forth making sure that all of her carefully-laid plans were being perfectly orchestrated. The set-up was uncannily similar to the Bluebird itself; ticket holders were seated around sweet little round tables that were laden with food (including sweet potato fries), drinks, and candles, each covered with a blue tablecloth and sat under a string of blue fairy lights. In the center the performance space was as wonderfully intimate and casual as that which it was modelled after, yet it was there where some serious musical chops were exercised over the course of the night.

Famed Nashville song writing venue The Bluebird Cafe comes to the UK for the first time and chooses Liverpool as its first port of call!

Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe will be celebrated in the UK for the very first time on Sat Aug 29, 2015 as part of the Liverpool International Music Festival.
