There was this moment during “All Kinds of Kinds” when Miranda Lambert was recalling standing up in geometry class and you wondered if the thought crossed her mind: am I really here? Lambert was singing in front of over 15,000 people headlining the Keeper of the Flame tour, on a cold rainy night at the Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater in Bristow, Virginia outside of Washington, D.C.

EMI Records Nashville’s Brothers Osborne earns the No.1 most added song at Country radio this week with their new single “21 Summer”. Following the duo’s RIAA Gold-Certified and GRAMMY-nominated No.1 hit “Stay A Little Longer,” John and TJ Osborne co-wrote “21 Summer” with Craig Wiseman. The breezy tune is featured on their debut album, Pawn Shop, which the Associated Press notes “establishes a slyly funky style of their own.” Praised by the Dallas Observer as “good old-fashioned country with incredible appeal for the mainstream,” Pawn Shop debuted at No.3 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and No.10 on the Billboard Top Albums Chart.

Well, not too much has changed this week on the singles charts. Once again Thomas Rhett leads Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay and Country Digital Songs with ‘Die A Happy Man’, and he’s beginning to creep up on a few records seeing as he’s running 11 consecutive weeks on HCS and 6 consecutive weeks on CA. Of course Sam Hunt’s ‘Break Up In A Small Town’ continues to reign on Country Streaming Songs and despite several new releases Chris Stapleton’s ‘Traveller’ holds strong at the helm of Top Country Albums. Other new records include Hank Williams, Jr.’s ‘It’s About Time’, Brothers Osborne’s ‘Pawn Shop’, Randy Rogers Band’s ‘Nothing Shines Like Neon’, Frank Foster’s ‘Boots On The Ground’ and several others. Read on for more!

Brothers Osborne ‘Pawn Shop’ – Album Review

I’ve got to admit, I listened to neither ‘Rum’ nor ‘Stay A Little Longer’ before picking up this album, making the assumption that like many of the charting singles from last year they would be crap. I picked this up because I heard ‘Loving Me Back’ featuring Lee Ann Womack, and if Lee Ann has given Brothers Osborne her stamp of approval then that’s good enough for me. Continue reading
