chris cover

Chris Young, “one of country music’s most reliable hitmakers” (USA Today), didn’t think it could get any better after a stellar weekend that included playing to packed houses in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Nashville and Miami and joining as a celebrity coach for Sunday night’s NHL® All-Star Game. That is until he was awoken a few hours later to a slew of text and voice messages congratulating the “I’m Comin’ Over” singer on an extraordinary four Academy of Country Music Awards nominations  – as artist and producer – for his No. 1 Single and Album, I’m Comin’ Over. The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards® will broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Sunday April 3, 2016 at 8:00 PM – 11:00PM ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

RCA Nashville’s Chris Young and hundreds of his music industry friends came together yesterday evening for a special celebration from Nashville’s One at the Cannery, honoring the “outstanding balladeer’s” (Associated Press) No. 1 album, I’m Comin’ Over, and the title-track’s three-week run atop the Billboard Top Country Airplay chart. As one of only two country artists to achieve a three-week chart-topper in 2015, Young (BMI) and his “I’m Comin’ Over” co-writers Corey Crowder (ASCAP) and Josh Hoge (SESAC) were surprised with the news of RIAA Platinum certification for the lead single, in addition to being presented with plaques recognizing the album and song’s many achievements.

Chris Young (Feat. Cassadee Pope) ‘Think of You’ – Single Review

chris

If Chris Young’s voice asked me to marry it there would be no hesitation, I’d say yes in a heartbeat. Unarguably one of the best and sexiest male voices in country music, Chris’ baritone is what we’d imagine creamy Hershey’s chocolate would sound like if it could sing. Chris came onto the country music scene after winning the 2006 season of the now-debunked reality singing competition show, Nashville Star. From the very beginning, Young made quite an impression on country music, becoming known as the guy next door, sweet and lovable with a sexy-as-Channing Tatum-shirtless voice. Some can boast that they were fans of Young from the very beginning, while others jumped on board at one point during the last 10 years. I myself became a fan of Chris after hearing “Voices”, the lead single from his second record. Chris quickly became known for his romantic songs. From “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song)” and “Tomorrow”, to “Who I Am With You”, Young has had success with the steamier and sweeter songs, they really allow his voice to shine.

Billboard Chart Roundup – Week of December 12th, 2015

chrisyoung

Another week, another opportunity for Chris Young to dominate radio. His single ‘I’m Comin’ Over’ tops Country Airplay for the third week in a row, while he takes #1 over on Mediabase’s chart this week too. Elsewhere on Billboard, Chris Stapleton is back at #1 on Top Country Albums with ‘Traveller’, while his tracks continue to sell and chart well, but it’s Thomas Rhett’s ‘Die A Happy Man’ which rules over Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs. Meanwhile, Sam Hunt’s ‘Break Up In A Small Town’ is the leader on Country Streaming Songs. We also have the beginnings of Christmas fever appearing in the lower reaches of the charts, so be prepared for that in the coming weeks. Read on for more!

Billboard Chart Roundup – Week of December 5th, 2015

chris-young-close-up_1431007826

We’re back this week for a Billboard chart roundup following a short break, and this time Chris Young is #1 on both Country Airplay and Top Country Albums with ‘I’m Comin’ Over’ (the album and single). Elsewhere, Thomas Rhett takes Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs with ‘Die A Happy Man’, and Sam Hunt returns to the top of Country Streaming Songs with ‘Break Up In A Small Town’. Chris Stapleton’s dominance has waned just slightly, but he still has plenty of market share as several of his album tracks chart highly across the lists. ‘Nobody To Blame’ in particular has cracked the radio top 30, an impressive feat for an artist of his style.
