Don Henley Talks About Land and Hopes and Dreams

Don Henley still can remember the smell of fresh dirt when he played as a child. And lying on his back in the big corn field of his family’s farm, he would gaze up to the expansive blue Texas skies. The stalks of corn looked like skyscrapers to the young boy.

“It wasn’t like the movie ‘Field of Dreams’ where baseball players were coming out of the corn but it gave me a place to dream,” the native Texan reflected during his visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame. “When the mind opens up you can think and dream.”

Dollywood Concert Series Raises over $635,000
for The Imagination Library.

Dolly Parton’s long time friend and duet partner Kenny Rogers returned to Dollywood this past weekend to help raise money and awareness for her Imagination Library, a book gifting program for kids from birth to age five. Just days after announcing his retirement on the TODAY show, Kenny sang to a sold-out crowd, giving everyone a night to remember at Dollywood’s D.P. Celebrity Theatre. Fans from around the world made their way to Pigeon Forge for a chance to see “The Gambler” performing songs from his treasure chest of mega hits in an intimate setting.

NBC has announced that its upcoming holiday film “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors” will air Thursday, Dec. 10 from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT.

“Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors” is based on the inspiring true story of living legend Dolly Parton’s remarkable upbringing. This once-in-a-lifetime movie special takes place inside the tight-knit Parton family as they struggle to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of love, faith, and a raggedy patchwork coat that helped make Parton who she is today.
