Coming off a record-breaking sold-out weekend on the 2015 BURN IT DOWN TOUR with more than 110,000 fans in attendance, RIAA’s top digital country male artist of all time Jason Aldean celebrates his 16th No. one single as “Tonight Looks Good On You” summits both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts this week. This is the 3rd consecutive chart-topper from his PLATINUM certified album OLD BOOTS, NEW DIRT.

Billboard Chart Roundup – Week of August 1st, 2015

Tonight-Looks-Good-On-You

There were no new country releases on the first Global Release Day (July 10), so Sam Hunt returns to the head of Top Country Albums with ‘Montevallo’. However, although ‘Take Your Time’ and ‘House Party’ are still charting across the top 5s, on the singles charts he continues to bow down to Little Big Town’s ‘Girl Crush’, by far the country hit of the year. It reigns at Hot Country Songs, Country Digital Songs and Country Streaming Songs this week, and moves up one position to #3 on Country Airplay, although this could be its peak on radio as the label used all their efforts to unsuccessfully push it to #1 this past seven days. What did make #1 is Jason Aldean’s ‘Tonight Looks Good On You’, while new entries include Clare Dunn’s ‘Move On’ and Jackie Lee’s ‘Headphones’. Read on for more!

Jason Aldean At The UK’S C2C Festival – Interview

Prior to 2015, Jason Aldean was pretty absent from UK shores in all senses of the word. He’d never performed here, and his music was not available, unless you paid for expensive imports. Last October he was announced as part of the line-up for C2C so his team began about making his albums available for purchase, a feat which finally came to realization on February 23rd. On March 8th, 2015, Jason made his UK debut, but just before his performance he took part in a press conference. Billboard Chart Roundup – Week of March 21st, 2015

As Jason Aldean climbs to the top of Country Airplay with ‘Just Gettin’ Started’, Brett Eldredge queues up to score his third #1 (possibly next week?) while Sam Hunt once again dominates Hot Country Songs, Country Digital Songs and Country Streaming Songs with ‘Take Your Time’, and Top Country Albums with ‘Montevallo’. In fact, he has a continuing hold on the charts in general, with ‘Take Your Time’ holding onto the top 10 on Country Airplay, and ‘Leave The Night On’, ‘Make You Miss Me’, and ‘Break Up In A Small Town’ all proving once again that he is a force to be beaten. Most can’t come close, although new entries from Kacey Musgraves (‘Biscuits’) and David Fanning (‘Doin’ Country Right’) might have something to say about it. Read on for the full top 50s!
