Guitar-B-Que @ Loser’s Bar, Nashville, TN | August 12, 2015 – Review

Guitar-B-Que-Losers

Having seen the line up for this year’s Guitar-B-Que in aid of St Jude’s Research Hospital, I was excited about the prospect of seeing some of my favorite artists all in a fairly intimate setting. Cam’s ‘Burning House’ is one of my very favorite songs of the year so far, and Jon Pardi’s debut album and B-Sides completely won me as a big fan. A Thousand Horses were more tricky since they are one of those bands who seem very moulded into something wholly commercial, and hence less authentic. Eli Young Band I’m going to admit, were not on the list of artists I wanted to see. Lee Brice however was, and I am quite a fan of many of his songs, and it was his inclusion that really made me want to go.

VIDEO: Lee Brice ‘That Don’t Sound Like You’

That-Dont-Sound-Like-YouHaving seen his previous two singles ‘I Don’t Dance’ and ‘Drinking Class’ go to #1 and #2 respectively, Lee Brice’s new single ‘That Don’t Sound Like You’ has a good chance of repeating, or at least nearing, that feat. Released in May, it’s currently peaking in the top 60 at country radio and now the rocky ballad has a video to match. The film alternates between shots of Lee miming the words at a picturesque beach location and the female subject of the song in similar places. During the song, she is the girl who’s been changed for the negative by her new man, job and home, and Lee encourages her to come back to who and where she used to be, a sentiment which is reflected in how the video switches moods and settings. You can check it out below!

Lee Brice

Lee Brice first caught fame through his songwriting. He has co-written singles for Garth Brooks, Eli Young Band, Tim McGraw, and others. Brice has released three albums on Curb Records and eleven singles, four of which have charted at number 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay.
