It was already a busy day the morning Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna and Liz Rose co-wrote a new song called “Girl Crush.”

“We didn’t think anything of it,” Hillary was saying on the eve of the CMA Awards, still remembering being in her pajamas and writing what she calls a “coffee song” around 9:00 a.m. “Really. Honestly.”

Trying to put it all in perspective, Lindsey said: “You can’t pretend to know any of what was going to happen. We’re all trying to write a love song every day that no one has heard before – and that’s just our job.”

The three were gathered onstage at Sirius XM’s CMA Songwriters Special on The Highway. The show brought together seven of the songwriters behind this year’s nominees for Song of The Year.

CMA Festival Country’s Night To Rock: Recap + Loads of Opinion

cma fest 2015

CMA Festival’s Country’s Night To Rock aired this week (Aug. 4th) on ABC… and it was pretty forgettable. Country super group Little Big Town hosted the event and did a good job at it, it’s just too bad the event wasn’t as good as they were.

Action-packed video drops Saturday, August 1 for weekend-long worldwide premiere on CMT Hot 20 Countdown and CMT platforms

Fans across the globe will want to tune in to CMT Hot 20 Countdown and CMT platforms including CMT.com and the CMT Artists App starting Saturday, August 1, as the scintillating new video for Randy Houser’s current single “We Went,”makes its weekend-long exclusive premiere. The Dustin Rikert-directed piece tells the story of the “Good Deed Bandits,” putting a Bonnie-and-Clyde-meet-Robin-Hood spin on an action-adventure chassis. Houser has garnered rave reviews for his “soulful delivery and the unrelenting arrangement” (Taste of Country) of the song, and recent live performances have inspired Billboard to proclaim “there is no reason that Houser shouldn’t receive some consideration for male vocalist of the year from the CMA and ACM. He’s simply that damn good.”

Randy Houser ‘We Went’ – Single Review

Randy Houser, signed to Stoney Creek record label in 2012, has released his latest single “We Went”. Previously signed to Universal South Records in 2008, Houser hit #1 with “How Country Feels” and then again with “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” in 2013. He first caught fame as a songwriter, writing such hits as Trace Adkins “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”. Now I have to admit that I haven’t been thrilled at all with Houser’s last handful of singles. They just didn’t hit the mark for me. I loved his single “Anything Goes” and always hoped that he would work back towards that style. Unfortunately for me, Houser has continually worked toward a more progressive sound with each single. That being said, his fans adore him and the man does have loads of talent. I just miss his “Anything Goes” and “Boots On”(which was his first top 10 hit) days.

Randy Houser Delivers Acoustic Set to Fans After Weather Forces Toadlick Festival to Shut Down

randy houser rain

High winds and rain couldn’t hold Randy Houser back from performing at the Toadlick Festival in Dothan, Ala. on Saturday, April 25. Although storms damaged the outdoor stage and much of the artists’ equipment, Houser stepped up to the plate and worked with festival promoters to rig a small PA system so he could play an acoustic set for the diehard fans who were willing to brave the wet weather. Craig Campbell was the only other performer on the night’s lineup who performed before the festival was forced to shut down.

RANDY HOUSER SURPASSES 3 MILLION IN SINGLES SALES FROM HOW COUNTRY FEELS AS FOURTH SINGLE NEARS TOP 5

“Like A Cowboy” rides higher on the charts as Houser prepares to hit the road with Luke Bryan

With an inimitable voice that the New York Times describes as “wholly different, thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over,” Randy Houser has racked up three consecutive No. 1 singles and now more than three million in singles sales with his most recent Stoney Creek Records album, How Country Feels. His current single and fourth off the album, “Like A Cowboy,” continues its steady climb up the charts as it nears the Top 5 on both Billboard and Mediabase charts this week.

Randy Houser ‘Like A Cowboy’ – Single Review

randy houser like a cowboy

Randy Houser is becoming known for fairly average adult contemporary love songs going to #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart because I guess Broken Bow are super in with radio people. Or maybe fans just really like fairly bland love songs about young love at night time. Either way, following the success of previous singles ‘How Country Feels’, ‘Runnin’ Outta Moonlight’ and ‘Goodnight Kiss’, Randy is back with ‘Like A Cowboy’, his first ballad release from this project.
