Ryan Beaver ‘Rx’ – Album Review


From the opening down-strum bar chords of empowerment anthem ‘Dark’, it’s clear that a special album is about to unfold. “Way out here, you can feel it coming,” Ryan sings in the record’s first line, his voice inflected with grit but beholding a strength that doesn’t truly unleash until the song’s climax. “I ain’t afraid of the dark,” he belts, setting out the soaring statement for an album that is defined by its highs and lows. On ‘Rx’, Ryan flirts with pain and darkness but ultimately arrives triumphant, stronger for the hardship endured.

Ryan Beaver Announces New Album ‘Rx’ Due May 6; Touring With Lee Ann Womack


On May 6th, Nashville’s Ryan Beaver will release his much-anticipated new album Rx. Today, Ryan shares “Fast,” the second song to be released from Rx, which premiered last week at Yahoo Music.

“This album is titled Rx because these songs are like medicine to me,” says Beaver of his new release. “Making this record was so much fun, and so therapeutic. These songs serve as a prescription for getting excited about music and life. And if they’re like medicine for me, maybe they will be for the listeners.”

Texas native Ryan Beaver has been honing his craft and building a fanbase for years, releasing the albums ‘Under The Neons’ and ‘Constant’ in 2008 and 2011 respectively, and achieving several hits on the Texas Music Charts. He’s also been something of a road dog, playing with the likes of Robert Earl Keen, Dean Dillon, Gary Allan, the Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, Hayes Carll, Striking Matches, Charlie Robison and Lyle Lovett. Now living in Nashville, Ryan is gearing up for the release of his next album ‘Rx,’ helmed by the brand new lead single ‘Dark,’ which came out on Friday.
